Carly Cohen, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with young adults, adults, and couples. She is a highly trained therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrates additional evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Carly has specialized training in treating individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, and other anxiety disorders. Dedicated to helping clients overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals, Carly empowers individuals with practical strategies to foster growth and well-being.

Carly earned her master’s degree in social work from New York University, where she gained valuable experience in two distinct settings. She worked at an outpatient clinic where she provided care to women navigating opioid addiction and other mental health challenges, including histories of trauma. Additionally, she provided individual therapy and facilitated a group designed to help women build meaningful connections while developing effective coping mechanisms to navigate life’s challenges. She also refined her knowledge and application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at a CBT-specialized private practice, where she completed formal training with the Beck Institute and Trial Based Cognitive Therapy (TBCT).

After earning her degree, Carly transitioned to full-time private practice. Her extensive experience in this setting has equipped her with skills and insight to effectively address a wide range of client needs. In addition to providing individual and couples therapy, Carly created and facilitated weekly group therapy sessions for individuals navigating social anxiety. Carly’s training, education, and diverse experiences have informed her therapeutic approach. With her unique perspective, Carly helps clients explore their internal experiences while considering external influences, enabling her to provide compassionate, context-sensitive care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Carly has continued to prioritize growth and learning throughout her career. She earned Level 1 certification through the Gottman Institute, which has added richness to the couples and relationship work that she does. Additionally, as a certified diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (ACBT), Carly is committed to remain at the forefront of advancements in the field. This dedication ensures she can offer the highest quality care to the individuals she supports.
