Nicole Bortnik, LMHC, ATR, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families both within the United States and abroad. Nicole provides therapy in both English and Spanish and in addition to treating social- emotional, behavioral, and other psychological difficulties, she specializes in the integration of expressive therapies to enhance treatment. Nicole also has specialized training in infant mental health, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma. Through a combination of modalities, she works with individuals to support their needs on a personal level.

Nicole has worked within a variety of settings including preschools through high schools, as well as outpatient and partial hospital settings. In addition to providing direct clinical treatment, Nicole also consults for schools working directly with teachers and directors to increase social-emotional practices within the learning curriculum. She also supervises Art Therapy graduate students in their clinical training.

Nicole began her career at Brandeis University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree and later earned her Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is trained in Alternative for Families Cognitive Behavior Therapy (AF-CBT), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and completed the LGBTQ Institute for Family Therapy (LIFT) Certification program.

Nicole is currently endorsed by the Florida Association for Infant Mental Health and is a member of the Art Therapy Association.
